About: With greater demands for reduced inspection times while maintaining a high level repeatability with no human error, aircraft engine manufacturers have started to look to automated systems for inspection of engine components. Areas like bores, webs and scallops can all be easily inspected by robot. By use of robots, the human factor can be greatly reduced by automatic evaluation and archived documentation from test inspections.
A 7-axis robot together with a fully integrated interface to the eddy current instrument and other ancillary devices provides a robust, reliable production inspection tool. New developments and advances with the system continue made to meet the high demands of the customer for existing as well as future engine components.
